Terms of Service
Effective September 9, 2026
Using RepoSentry
These terms govern use of reposentry.org, operated by the RepoSentry project team. By using the service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
RepoSentry provides document classification, repository access controls, and activity monitoring for research collaboration. Access is by invitation and is subject to the role and permissions assigned by your administrator.
Your account and responsibilities
Use an account you are authorized to use. Protect your sign-in credentials and authenticator, and report suspected unauthorized access to the project team. Do not bypass access controls, misuse another person's account, disrupt the service, or upload malicious or unlawful material.
Only upload or connect data that you are permitted to process and share. You are responsible for complying with your institution's research, confidentiality, consent, and data-handling requirements.
Your content and Google connection
You retain your rights in your content. You authorize RepoSentry to access, process, store, classify, and display that content as needed to provide the repository features and the sharing you authorize. Connecting Google Drive grants the permissions displayed on Google's consent screen. You can revoke that connection in your Google Account settings.
Data handling is described in our Privacy Policy. Google and other services you use have their own applicable terms.
Classification and availability
Automated classifications and access-risk signals can be incorrect. Review important decisions and do not rely on RepoSentry as your only security control or your only copy of research data. Keep independent backups.
The service is a capstone research project and may change or experience interruptions. We do not promise uninterrupted availability or error-free classification. Nothing in these terms removes rights that applicable law does not allow to be waived.
Access changes and leaving the service
Administrators may change or remove access to protect the repository, enforce its rules, or respond to misuse. You may stop using the service and revoke its Google access at any time. For deletion of data stored in RepoSentry, contact the project team as described in the Privacy Policy.
Changes and contact
Changes to these terms will be posted here with an updated effective date. For support or questions, contact the RepoSentry project team at runicoleee@gmail.com.
